The CLIR Community Data Fellowship Program offers recent Ph.D. graduates opportunities to craft and enact equitable, forward-focused strategies for preserving data related to the histories of people of color and other communities and populations whose work, experiences, and perspectives have been insufficiently recognized or unattended in the historical record. Prioritizing digital information that is at the greatest risk of loss, the program supports initiatives that foreground meaningful engagement with people connected to or represented in the data that organizational partners preserve. The fellows will help partners to work towards respectful and ethical description and use, and they will help to build inclusive teams for curating and preserving data across organizational, community, and geographic boundaries.
CLIR will begin accepting program applications on January 24, 2022, and CLIR and partners will continue to review applications on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. All applications submitted before March 1, 2022, will be considered. Partners will contact selected candidates directly for additional application materials and interviews.
